Plan A
1) For the first year after high school I plan to move to Calgary, and move in with my aunt.
Education: I plan to be going to Mount Royal University for the Broadcasting program
Personal: I plan to start saving money up, so that I can pay off loans and such
Career: I plan to get a new job, part time so that while i'm going to school I can be saving up money. Right now I have a job, and have been saving up money for school next year. But if I'm moving i'm going to need a new one.
2) In looking a bit further down the road, past the first year after high school, what are my Plan A long term personal, education, and career goals? Why
did I choose these goals?
Looking in to the future, in two years time I hope that I have graduated from Mount Royal, and have a job in radio and tv broadcasting. I hope to be ready to start looking for a place on my own, and also able to pay some money back to my aunt, to help her seeing as she will be letting me stay at her house and eat for free. I chose these goals because I feel that they are realistic and possible to acheive. I feel like it is important to be saving up money and paying my aunt back.
3) What have I done in HIGH SCHOOL to prepare meachieve my Plan A short term (& potentially long term) goals? Ex:
School courses (must be available locally), Work Experiences, trainings, community or school activities, etc.
I haven't done anything to prepare for radio or tv broadcasting because there are no courses at school to take. In april I have a job shadow that I am going to astral media. I have a job and have been saving up money for school so that I can afford it.
4) What POST-SECONDARY INSTITUTIONS OR FACILITIES provide the education or training I need for my Plan A short (and potentially long term) goals? Briefly describe the institution, program of choice and the high school pre-requisites to get into this program.
I have chosen Mount Royal University, I chose this one because I can live right by it and it will be cheaper. Also there are more possiblities to get a job in a bigger city. It is a 2 year program where you leave with a dipolma. With this program you gain experience with real clients like producers, you get the chance to cover local sport events. They also have advanced equitment. This helps me once I graduated find a good job in this industry. The requirments are a socials studies, and 60% or more in english.
5) What co-curricular, volunteer, or community experiences will help me achieve my Plan A short and long term goals?
I think going to job shadow will help. Also just working and saving money will also be helpful
6) What are potential challenges I may face in the achievement of my Plan A goals and what will I do to meet these challenges?
One of the problems that I may have problems with is getting accepted into the school, I also have to make sure my grades are high enough.
7) A. SHORT TERM GOALS:
At the end of the first year after high school, how will I know I have met my Plan A goals? How will I demonstrate my success?
I will know beacuse I will have enough money saved up, my marks will be high enough, and I will be accpeted into Mount Royal and finshed the first year of the program. Also I will have a part-time job in Calgary.
B. LONG TERM GOALS: What is my timeline for achieving my Plan A long term goals? (ex: 2, 5, 10 years?) How will I demonstrate my success?
I will of finshed my schooling and have my diploma in Broadcasting. I will have saved enough money to move out of my aunts house and get my owm place. Also I will have paid my aunt some money back. Also I'd like to have a job in Radio, i'd demonstrate it by working with as many people in the industry as I can before I graduate from mount royal, so that I know some poeple and my names gets out there.

Some challengaes would be getting a job after I'm done schooling, and making sure that I stick to my decisions, but I can meet these challenges by doing some volunteering before I go to Eton, to make sure that it is what I want to do. Also making sure that I will have a part-time job, but I can face this by keeping my mind open to any job to make sure I have enough money.
